Designed by Erling Opstad in 1986, the Helle Harding is considered by many to be the number one Helle classic. It is a traditional Scandinavian hunting knife with a barrel-shaped handle, built to be carried for decades and handed down.
The blade is Helle's triple laminated stainless steel: a hard, high-carbon stainless core for edge retention, sandwiched between two layers of softer, tougher stainless steel. It is sharpened with a traditional scandi grind and hand polished to a razor edge, and the full-length stick tang runs through the handle for strength.
The handle is built from blocks of curly birch and darkened oak separated by colored leather spacers, then hand sanded to its barrel shape and polished. A brass butt cap locks into the included genuine leather sheath for secure carry. Handmade by Helle in Holmedal, Norway.
