Johnny Slicks Organic Beard Wash – Tea Tree & Peppermint, 4 oz or 8 oz

I got this for my husband to try. He doesn't have a lot of facial hair, but has been growing out a mustache. He tried this product as a full face wash and wasn't crazy about how that felt. It was a bit too drying for him. But he realized that this product would be best for someone with a full beard that needs that deep cleansing of the skin behind their beard.It smells fresh and minty, mostly like peppermint. The formula is on the thin side so a little goes a long way. It's a bit thinner than just castile soap (which is one of the ingredients) on it's own. Due to the thinner consistency, the bottle should last a good while. It's just the right size where it's bigger than a sample, but not so large that it would take forever to get through it if you're wanting to switch up your routine once it's gone.If you're someone with a lot of facial hair or a thick beard, I think you'll like this. It works up to a good lather. Just as a face wash it may be too much for every day use.

I really want to like this because the product is made in the USA, and the company is based in North Carolina, and "Johnny Slicks is a marine-veteran-owned company dedicated to providing organic, high-quality grooming products for men with ingredients that have purpose", but this just isn't for me.It says it is very watery to allow it to quickly penetrate your thick beard to nourish the skin and hair follicle, and this sounds great, but makes it very difficult to effectively apply it without it running out of your palm and onto the floor, or your shirt.It also says it has a "Rugged Scent", *In my best Maury Povich voice* The Lie Detector Determined: That Was a Lie.Unless we're classifying tea tree oil as a Rugged Scent now, which I don't.When I think Rugged and Manly, I think Woods: Sandalwood, Oak, Agarwood, Pine; Materials: Leather, Denim; Other Stuff: Amber, Smoke/Tobacco, Bourbon, etc.Another issue I take umbrage with is that if this was leave-in, I would probably dislike it less, but after applying it, you're instructed to wash your face, but it has at least 4 listed oils in it, so unless you're supposed to wash your face with soap and water (which would defeat the purpose of using this), this step is redundant and makes no sense.I washed my face before applying, and then am asked to wash it again after using it, make that make sense.I don't really see the effectiveness, or functionality of this, and I don't think it's a good value in my opinion, but I still like the company, and would support them again in the future, should they release a newly updated product.

Second bottle I've purchased.  Good product and love the scent.

Good feel and clean

It’s thin and doesn’t lather like you’re used to, but it’s going to get you clean and feeling great anyway!

This works great.  I use it as a shampoo, and it leaves my hair nice and clean.  It does not dry my hair out, and does not leave my hair oily either.  As a bonus, it smells good too.

Bought this for hubby whose beard is a large part of his personality...and he loves it.  Soft and hydrated beard amd smells lovely,  but not strong enough to compete with cologne.  New fave.

I have a very long beard, nearly 11 inches. This wash smells great but the product I got is too watery and does not lather at all even when applied multiple times. I tried applying to my hand first and directly into my beard with the same result.

Works and smells great!Only downside is that it is very runny.  Not very viscous.

Great for scalp or acne treatment not just for men and beards.

This stuff is awesome. Its not very viscose like more popular soap but it lathers easily once you start. Other than it being very liquid, its solid stuff and smells/feels great.

My husband has been using this beard wash for about 3 months now and it’s definitely one I’d recommend! It makes the beard nice and smooth and has a great smell as well! It’s absolutely worth the purchase if your man has a beard!

Has a nice leather like smell. However, it doesn’t really foam up and I don’t see a difference from other beard washes.

I bought the unscented version for my husband and it still has a scent. It smells absolutely Incredible. He was using that gross Duke Cannon and the smell would linger in the house and on him after he showered....in a gross way. It didn't smell good or even clean. However. This stuff smells amazing and I actually enjoy it. It works well, no dryness afterwards and it doesn't take a lot of product to clean. Highly highly recommend. An unscented wash shouldn't smell ****...but somehow this stuff does.

I have recently let my beard grow out and I have eczema so I was careful to get a product with good ingredients. This has been amazing for me no flaky skin, smells amazing and feels amazing! Will be buying more of this! Truly amazing product!
