The ulu is the traditional all-purpose knife of the Inuit, used for skinning and butchering game, preparing food, cutting hides and just about any job that calls for a sharp edge. Roselli's version brings that proven design into the modern kitchen, handmade in Harmoinen, Finland.
The heavy, forged carbon steel blade is hardened to around 60 HRC, and its curved edge is made for a rocking motion. Let the weight of the blade do the work to chop herbs and vegetables, slice meat, mince, and even cut pizza, with your hand centered safely above the edge.
The curly birch handle is finished with linseed oil for a firm grip even when wet. The ulu comes with a matching birch knife stand, also oiled, that keeps the edge protected on the counter.
